On behalf of the SpaceOps 2021 Local Organization Committee,
I would like to invite you to the 16th International Conference on Space Operations (SpaceOps 2021) held in Cape Town South Africa.

As the chairman of the local organisation committee and representative of the South African National Space Agency (SANSA), I look forward to welcoming you to Cape Town, South Africa from 3 – 7 May 2021 for SpaceOps 2021.

SpaceOps 2021, hosted by SANSA, will provide the opportunity for you to share experiences, challenges, and innovative solutions with colleagues from around the world. This conference aims to bring together the global space operations community to address state-of-the-art operations principles, methods and tools. Held biennially since 1990, the conference attracts technologists, scientists, and managers from space agencies, industry, and academia, and fosters managerial and technical interchange on all aspects of space mission operations, including robotic and human spaceflight, Earth orbit and deep space missions, lunar and planetary missions, and orbital and surface operations.

SpaceOps 2021 will be held for the first time on the African continent, in the multicultural melting pot with a rich history, Cape Town, South Africa. South Africa is rapidly taking its place amongst the scientific destinations of choice with the science and technology innovations & research it undertakes on a global scale. Our country, South Africa, also offers the discerning tourist an exciting mix of tourist and entertainment possibilities. Visitors will find Cape Town a vibrant, trendy, sophisticated, well connected and stunningly attractive modern city to visit. South Africa’s top 6 tourist attractions are within an hour from the City Centre with SpaceOps 2021 right in the centre of it all.
